Abstract
This paper proposes a 2040 prospective for French aquaculture fish farming covering both freshwater and marine aquaculture. It is carried out by studying the changes in genetics, domestication, food, water, demand and markets, technological innovations, institutional dynamics and site access. From assumptions made for these factors, seven scenarios are proposed. They make it possible to explore a voluntarily wide range of possibilities. These remain to be discussed and validated within collective workgroups.
